Bathe/shower with warm water only for the first two (2) days after laser treatment. DO NOT use hot water or “soak” in the tub.
No Jacuzzis, saunas or strenuous exercise for 48 hours.
Use a gentle, nonabrasive cleanser that is free of artificial fragrance, detergent, color and oil.
Avoid exfoliating the skin with loofas or abrasive scrubs. If you develop scabbing, do not scratch or pick.
If your treatment was facial, use an oil-free, non-medicated cover-up, preferably one with sunscreen.
Avoid use of toners for 48 hours. Thereafter, we recommend toners that contain the complete group of antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E.
There should be no chemical peels to the area throughout the treatments.
Apply 1% hydrocortisone cream to the treated area every 12 hours for the first two (2) days (48 hours) after treatment. This product can be found at any drug store.
After the first 48 hours, keep the area moisturized with Aloe Vera gel or any light fragrance-free moisturizer.
Avoid using skin irritants (Retin-A, Benzyl Peroxide, glycolic acid, astringents etc.) on the treated areas.
No deodorant for 48 hours if the under arm was treated.
Avoid exposure to the sun, wear protective clothing, and use sunblock of at least 30 SPF daily throughout the treatment process (5 to 8 months). A good sunblock will contain zinc oxide or titanium dioxide and will protect against both UVA and UVB rays.
Possible side effects or treatment may include mild redness, local swelling, dry skin, mild tenderness or whitehead-like bumps. Symptoms may be present immediately or for a couple days after your treatment. If they persist for longer than one week, please call us at 949-646-3376 and ask to speak with the Hair Laser RN.
